You only need to look at the breakdown of all Ohio voters. To see 25% of the voters turn out for a sleepy month August vote tells us a lot. But the numbers tell us even more when you look all voters by sex and age.
I'll leave the math up to you but it's clear to me Republicans will rue the day they tried to pull this stunt thinking Democrats were too lazy to vote in an off-off-off election month, their magatized majority would march lockstep on an issue directly tied to women’s health and men would not be motivated against the Republican’s obvious and hypocritical reversal on August elections.
When there are more women than men voters and 43% of the voters are under 45, those GOP members in the state legislature and holding statewide offices should maybe be considering a career change starting in 2024. This ain't going away.
This vote bodes well for Democrats, women’s rights supporters and defenders of democracy. Conversely it bodes ill for any politician from Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R), failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake (R) who came to the state in support of Issue 1 and all the deep pocket donors who gave millions only to lose.
Voters won’t forget who supported Issue 1 and how it ties them directly to the future of women’s health in their states. The Supreme Court said the question of abortion should be up to the states.
Well, the states are speaking one by one across party lines. Majority Rule is not dead yet in America.

TPM’s podcast title Tia week: NOhio!
It's getting to the point Republicans can't use dirty tricks to maintain minority rule. As EJ Dionne said today: "In the Ohio GOP’s scam referendum, the majority backed majority rule"!!
